Sustainable Beauty Masterclass : Cape Town

Sustainability is not a quick fix; it's a long term strategy.

I've recently returned from a trip to my home town of Cape Town. While I was there I had the great pleasure of sharing what I know about clean beauty and sustainability with my colleagues. I held a masterclass for professional South African hair and makeup artists, to develop their own sustainable beauty strategy - for their personal lives, as well as for their professional ones.

The intimate workshop was held at The Garden of O D D (an enchanted little shoppe in Observatory, owned by my mother and her friend Lisa).

This is a subject very close to my heart and it was an absolute joy to share it with inquiring minds who want to clean up their beauty act. The three hours sped by and we even ran over because everyone was so engaged in conversation. Some great questions where asked and some inspired ideas were shared amongst the group.

I was able to take a wide variety of clean colour cosmetics with me, so that the attendees had a real opportunity to try products that are not yet readily available in SA.

Absolution Cosmetics kindly provided everyone with one of their incredible lipsticks, which went down so well.

We had Lauren Clarke from Zuii Organics SA and Soul Tree SA display and share what is currently on offer in South Africa.

The lovely Dale (pictured above) won the lucky draw - an amazing hamper containing Ere Perez, Sappho New Paradigm, Inika and Nude by Nature.

I'm really looking forward to hosting more of these #sustainablebeautymasterclasses in 2019!
